The St. Francis Varsity Lacrosse team found a way to win on Tuesday night scraping out a hard-earned 11-10 victory against visiting Saline High School (MI). The Knights jumped out to a first half lead of 7-2, but Saline answered with a vengeance in the second half. The Knights found themselves battling back to tie the game at 10.

After a solid defensive stop, Senior Joe Petro rushed the ball the length of the field on a superb individual effort with only 15 seconds remaining. Eventually the ball made its way into the stick of Freshman Matthew DiSalle, who buried the game winning goal with only 6 seconds remaining! It was DiSalle’s third goal of the game and his first career hat trick with the Knights. Congrats to both teams on a physical, yet competitive match-up! Thank you for traveling Saline, and best of luck to you for the remainder of your season!

With the win, the Knights are now 7-3. They travel to Strongsville on Thursday, April 29 for a 7:00 pm game.

The JV Knights beat Saline by a score of  8-5 and are currently 7-3. Their next game is Friday, April 30th at 5:00 pm at Clay High School.

Go Knights!
